Maui High School Foundation Erin-Joie Yogi Memorial Scholarship


MISSION OF THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Maui High School Foundation promotes the pursuit of higher education by awarding scholarship grants to deserving seniors of Maui High School.
A & I Refrigeration Scholarship Mission - We value students’ hopes, dreams and aspirations. Our mission is to provide qualified and highly skilled workers trained to meet the challenges of rapid technological advancements. Hence, the purpose of this scholarship is to make the dream of college a reality for area students who wish to remain on Maui and who desire careers that will improve our community.
AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIPS

The Maui High School Foundation’s Scholarship Program is funded from various donations and/or activities held throughout the year. The 2020 A & I REFRIGERATION IET SCHOLARSHIP is funded by A & I Refrigeration Sales and Service Inc. of Kahului, Maui. ONE $1000 Scholarship will be awarded.

ELIGIBILITYApplicant must be a 2020 graduate of Maui High School with a weighted cumulative high school grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicant must complete the application and provide all required documents by the stated deadline. The Scholarship Judges reserve the right to request supplemental materials from any Applicant. All IET Applicants must be recognized by the State of Hawaii as a program completer. ( A 12th grade student who has completed the requirements for the Industrial and Engineering Pathway as outlined by the State Department of Education which includes at least two credits in the sequence of the IET career pathway program area plus one required academic course). Applicant must be accepted to and planning to attend UH Maui College AND/OR plan to enroll in a Maui-based trade or apprenticeship program.

SELECTION CRITERIA
The Scholarship Judges’ decision will be based on

  • The Applicant’s weighted cumulative grade point average (20%);
  • The Applicant’s high school activities, awards, honors, employment, andcommunity service activities (20%);
  • An Interview with the judges (40%); and
  • One letter of recommendation (20%).
All decisions by the Scholarship Judges are final.

DEADLINE
The completed application packet which includes application, resume and letter of recommendation must be emailed to the Maui High School Foundation at
foundation@mauihigh.org by 4:00 pm on March 13th, 2020. Application documents must be submitted in one PDF document. Please do not submit separate files.


 
ABSOLUTELY NO EXTENSIONS OR EXCEPTIONS WILL BE GRANTED.
