FACULTY & STAFF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FUND GRANTS
The Maui High School Foundation is proud to support the continuous growth of our educators and staff. This fund is designed to enhance the skills and performance of our team, ultimately benefiting the students and community of Maui High School. Deadlines:
Application Window: August 4, 2026 - August 7, 2026 (FALL) & January 4 - January 15, 2027 (WINTER)
Eligibility: All permanent full-time MHS faculty and staff.
Funding Limit: Up to $1,000 per individual in any two-year period.
Selection: Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted.
Funding can be used for tuition, fees, and travel (airfare, lodging, etc.) for:
Local and out-of-state professional conferences.
Online courses and workshops in instructional techniques.
Pedagogical seminars and computer skills training.
Industry partnerships.
Note: Expenses such as professional dues, equipment (hardware/software), and meal costs (per diem) are not eligible for funding.
How to Apply

Get Pre-Approval: Complete your HIDOE pre-approval form (e.g., DOE OTM 200-005(a)) and have it signed by the Principal.
Gather Documentation: Have your proof of enrollment (receipt or email confirmation) ready to upload.
Submit Online: Complete the application form through the portal before the deadline listed above.
Important: Applications for reimbursement for already completed professional development will not be accepted. You must apply before the activity begins.
Review & Disbursement Applications are reviewed by the Professional Development Fund Committee based on alignment with Maui High School Foundation’s Mission, Vision, and General Learner Outcomes.
Notification: You will be notified via the portal within 3 - 4 weeks after the deadline.
Payment: Funds are disbursed directly to the applicant.
Final Reporting: A final report and proof of completion must be submitted via the portal within 60 days of finishing your activity.
GROW OUR TEACHERS (G.O.T) FACULTY SCHOLARSHIP
Established in honor and appreciation of the Maui High School Class of 1966, with gratitude to the many teachers who inspired generations of students, and to those who continue to inspire future generations today.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Must be a current employee of Maui High School
Must be pursuing teacher certification in the field of education
Must be enrolled in a Hawaiʻi State Approved Teacher Education Program (SATEP) and/or coursework approved by the Hawaiʻi Teacher Standards Board (HTSB) for the purpose of obtaining a valid teaching license or permit

Applications will be accepted twice per year: July 28, 2026 - August 7, 2026 (Fall) & January 4 - January 15, 2027 (Winter)
Applicants must submit the following:
Brief personal essay describing:
Educational and career goals
Intended use of scholarship funds
Commitment to education and Maui High School students
Letter of Recommendation
Class schedule, registration confirmation, or counselor/advisor letter showing enrollment in teaching courses or an approved teacher education program
